Board Meeting Friends of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards, Inc

Present: Board Members: Richard Belliveau, Robert Mazzara, Ken Nelson, James Murdock,  Richard St. Pierre, Richard Morgenstern. Absent:Bill Cowell

 

The Friends of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards meet with Major Michael Downes to hear his request for support from the Friends for the upcoming 2009 fiscal year. Major Downes presented and shared the 2009 Operating and Capital Budgets for the First Company Governors Horse Guards with the board. The board members had some questions which the Major answered along with some suggestions that the Major Downes indicated he would consider. See attached 2009 Operating and Capital Budget for details.

 

Operation Budget

·         Major Downes Fuel Fund- This money is to buy fuel for Bob Oakliff when he donates his time and truck to the Guard.

·         Cpt. Boucher Awards, Ribbons-The amount of $1400 appeared high.

·         Lt. B. Stables Repel-  Richard Belliveau suggested this could be donated to the troop

·         Lt. Cusano Ammon- Richard Belliveau suggested this could gotten from the National Guard. Major Downes will check into

Capital Budget

  • Sgt. Miller Projector-Suggested by the board to see if this can be obtained from the Military Department.
  • Lt. Cusano- Rifles-Board members remarked this seemed a bit out of line.

 

Major Downes told the Friends that the original budget requested by the Troop was for a total of $58,550 and he had reduced the budget to $39,400.  This budget represents currently represents a short fall of $30,766

 

The Friends of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards voted to approve a donation to 1GHG of $30,766 for the fiscal year of 2009. This donation is to be provided in two installments one as of January 2009 and the other in July of 2009 after the annual horse show. This motion was made by Ken Nelson and seconded by Robert Mazzara. It was approved unanimously by the members present.
