Friends of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards, Inc

 

The first meeting of the Friends of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards was held on January 10, 2006 in Avon, Ct.

 

Those in attendance at the first meeting were: Andrew Arsenault, Richard Bellievau, Bree Berner, Gary Brooks, Bill Cowell, Erik Kaneko, Ken Nelson, Bob Mazzara, Steve Meltzer, James Murdock, Chris Miller, Harvey Silverman, Richard St. Pierre

 

Ken Nelson called the meeting to order at 18:10 hrs. He reviewed the agenda for the meeting and explained the purpose and process for forming the Friends of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards. The agenda included election of Officers and Directors, By Law and status of 501( c ) ( 3) application.

 

New Business

  • Election of officers: The following people were nominated and voted in by those in attendance to be board members for The Friends of  1  GHG:

President                     Richard Belliveau

Vice President            Richard St. Pierre

Treasurer                    Kenneth Nelson

Secretary                     William Cowell

Directors                     Andrew Arsenault, Steve Meltzer, Harvey Silverman

Directors at Large      Gary Brooks, James Murdock, Robert Mazzaro, Eric Kaneko

 

 

·       501-c-3 application: Ken Nelson updated those in attendance on the status of the 501c3 application. There is still work to be done to complete this application and get in submitted to the IRS. This will be worked on and hopefully completed at the next meeting.

 

  • Fundraisers: A brief discussion on the fundraises the Friends of 1GHG are planning to conduct this year was undertaken.  Richard St. Pierre discussed the first annual Golf Tournament to be help on September 11, 2006. Horse show budget was discussed by Steve Meltzer and Chris Miller.

 

  • Checking Account:   Ken Nelson will open a bank account with bank in the area.

 

Next meeting. Will be held on Tuesday January 17. 2006 in Avon, Ct at 6:00 PM.
