Board Meeting Friends of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards, Inc

Present: Board Members: Richard Belliveau, Bill Cowell, Ken Nelson, James Murdock, Robert Mazzara, Richard St. Pierre Absent: Richard Morgenstern,

 

The Friends of the First Company Horse Guards held a board meeting on 31 October 2008 to review its financial position and other new business that may come before the board.

.

Minutes - the board meeting minutes of 30 June 2008 were reviewed and approved.  Motion made by Jim Murdock and seconded by Ken Nelson.

 

Financial Review: - Ken Nelson reviewed the financial report with the board (see attached report) and the report was accepted. Currently have $87,504.67 balance projected as of 12-31-08 after all expenses from the golf tournament are accounted for.

 

Golf Committee – Ken Nelson reviewed the financials for the 2008 tournament and indicated that the tournament netted $17, 476.27 profit prior to the donation to the National Guard foundation and $14, 476.27 after donation to the National Guard foundation is made.

 

Bob Mazzara indicated 16 staff member and 6 active 1GHG personnel assisted with the golf tournament on the day of the tournament. He also stated that 16 active members played in the tournament. Bob did comment that in the future he would hope that more current members would help with the tournament. 

 

Directors Insurance-. This still is an open item. Ken to get new quotes for the year 2009 and bring to next meeting

 

Honorary members – This is still open. Letters to potential members to be sent out..

 

New Business

·        ·        In keeping with the intentions of funds raised through the Friends Golf Tournament which is to donate 25% or $3,000.00 which ever is less of the net proceeds of the tournament to the Connecticut National Guard Foundation, the board voted to donate $3,000.00 to the foundation. The motion  was made by Richard Belliveau and seconded by Rich St. Pierre. All members of the board voted in favor of the motion.
